Im going on a hunting trip to the northeast next week.

I will want to bring home some trophy birds to mount. Whats is the best way?

Ive heard freezing them and shipping them UPS one day air.

Ive heard various methods of trying to take them on the airplane?

Anybody got any ideas or ways that you have used to transport them home?

Depending on how many you are bringing, you can freeze them, wrap them in plastic and put them in a shoe box. Then carry them on or check them.

I was told by my taxi that he likes to use panty hose and slide the bird in and tie off the end, keeps the feathers from getting effed, and you can wrap in plastic and freeze like stated above...

Buy a cooler while your out there.

Breast the birds with 1 wing one. pack in the cooler with dry ice and ship either priority mail or ups.

On some trips I overnight my game to myself frozen. I just returned from Maryland, I put 5 ducks and a massive Canada in a backpack and checked them at the airport. It would be nice if you can freeze them prior to flying, either way just put them in ziplock bags while they are cold and put them on the plane. Don't carry them on, they will be colder in the belly of the plane. To be specific, I put the ducks in a smaller zip lock then put them in panty hose. Then I put a couple of ducks in the larger zip locks (2 1/2 gallon). The over usage of ziplocks will further prevent any leakage and keep from throwing up any flags from the airlines.

By the way, if you ship or check in at the airport; DO NOT bring up dry ice. They want to call it a hazard and charge you or not let you use it...
