So I'm sitting in the deer stand Saturday evening. It's a little windy but not bad. I hear something behind me and I turn to my left and there he is a big 8 point. First off I think I had a premonition the whole time I'm sitting in the stand there these three branches right In My shooting lane that I know will bite me in the ass. Sure enough the buck comes out a 20 yards and I'm thinking to myself this bucks dead. I pull back and let it fly for about 2 yards it was perfect the. It all went down hill the arrow hit the twig and flew like a shooting star due to it haveing a lumeknock. Boy am I sick

It won't be the last time shot like that happens I got hundreds of stories like that lol

When I first started bow hunting I caught by buck fever from a possum walking up behind me lol

no doubt i had buck fever but i knew the damn limb was going to screw me the moment i sat in the stand. i think if you dont get buck fever then you might want to find a new hobbie

I've had that happen to me tons of times. I will sit down and see limbs I need to break, but I don't do it because I don't want to move or make any noise. It's better to do it and get it over with.

As far as buck fever, I get it every time. I shot a doe Saturday night, the same night my wife shot the buck. There's a pic on here. After I shot, my left leg started jumping up and down uncontrollably. Kind of like when you scratch a dog on his belly......First time that has ever happened.....in the treestand anyway....

That was years ago when I caught buck fever and took shots that was never their!! Now what I shoot I kill so if killing big deer makes you a man then I guess I pass that test!!

I'm just pokin at ya T. If you ain't let one get away you ain't got many either. I think some learn earlier than others about what you said...took shots that were not there. I have let some big deer walk by because I didn't have a good kill shot. I don't like to cripple anything!
I have family and friends in MS w/ some of the best deer in the state and don't give a shit about shooting one anymore.
