i built a head light last night out of some stuff around the shop it was very easy and works a little better than the store bought since they use a 30 matt bulb and i used a 50 watt bulb (ma dad has about 20 of them layin around the motorcycle shop since they use them on the motorcycles) and i used a house hold electrical cord for my cord and an old metal funnel we had layung around for my light cone |

I was being serious. I wasnt trying to be a smart ass. I have seen branches and ducked, but when i pop up, there have been other branches behind the ones i originally ducked for. |

Sometimes you just got to be smarter than the branch. Obviously your tree didn't have many. ![]() |

How do you know "down" is not the "on" position? |

Built one myself this year. I installed a 100 watt bulb and has been great. Wish I had done it years ago. Do NOT buy fog lights for your boat, never in right spot, hard hat light right all the time. Had mine come of as I was running rough water and trail behind the motor. Don't know how the prop didn't get the cord, but still workin. Gonna make another soon for passenger with a 55 watt. |

This is what mine came out like. I put my switch on the side for ease of access but I made sure the switch was flipped back for the on position, just as many of you had said in case of a branch catches it. |

I have one from GoDevil I stole from a buddy. instead of having those little bolts and nuts to hold the bulb in, they ran some springs from the back of the bulb to the back of the hardhat to hold tension on it. it stays in there alot better than using those little bolts. |

Coastal, I had the cig plug on mine and was doing so runnin around one night during duck season and that mf got hot enough inside to melt the solder. I had used it 4 or 5 times before and never had any probs though. |

I have used it for 4 hours at a time frog hunting and no problems. It could be the plug i bought. It looks like a good one and it twists and locks in place. Also my light bulb may not be as big as some. |
