I'm ready now. How many are going this year? I hear it will be a little different this year. Not sure what, maybe something with the stations. Last year was my first trip, and it was long lines at the stations. We gave up waiting and just cruised around enjoying everything. Had a great time.

After we made it to the river and the last station we couldn't figure out why most of the boats were headed up the river, we road up about a mile and turned around and headed back to Packs. Later we found out about the sandbar. We will be making the run up to the sandbar this year.

My crew and I are in. We always buy hands to support the cause but we do not play. We hit the sandbar last year and it was freaking nuts. It is a haul tho. Carry extra gas if you plan on hitting the sand bar. Even if you plan on not partaking in the drawing buy a hand and support the cause.

Yeah our crew bought hands but didn't play. Definitely going to take more gas this year. We only had maybe a gallon left last year out of 6 gallons. Didn't realize how much riding we were going to do. We ran 44 miles that day and didn't go to the sandbar.

It is definitely a long one. I filled my 12 gallon tank up but didn't use much at all until the run back to th campgrounds. My old rig sure loved to drink gas at 4700-4800 rpm for some reason?

Wow, I will have my lowrance in for the run. I will be interested to see how many miles we log that weekend.

New to this site but looking forward to the 2014 Duck Run! It will be a blast I'm sure as every year!

Dean, I believe that picture was from 06. Great times. People were using their atvs to drive around the swamp.

Water level was good last year. Only hit a few stumps making the run from Carolina Kings up to Packs. We ran straight up the lake on the right side. Just checked the water level today and it's at 75.19, last year it was 75.65. Maybe we will get a little rain and keep it up for the run.

Which group were you in jc? My group stayed at Carolina Kings as well. And ever since I've ran the lakes, you want the water just low enough so the stumps stick up out the water. There's a decent line off the bank that is stump free.

We didn't get there until late friday. Didn't ever get a chance to hang out with anybody.

I did talk to a guy for just a minute Saturday night who had made the trip all the way from Alaska! Here is a pic of his boat that I saw on another site.

I met them Friday whenever we got in around 7. We stayed 2 cabins down from them.

Most people with kids just head to Station 1 and hang around to the start so yes.

Couple days left. getting a few things squared up on my ride today. Everybody gonna head to the Cooper on Sunday? Gonna suck since the bridge is out though. Looking forward to seeing everybody again.

The one heading to Cypress Gardens. You got to go the long way around now.

Ok. I don't think we will be able to make it to the mud run. I have been on the Cooper before and had a blast.

Damn, that's a pretty good haul. Just looked and that's about 11 miles down to the train trestle.

You can still put in at cypress garden from what I hear. You just have to drive a little bit further around to it. I'll be there this year for the first time got to see what this 27 will do. Hope it's better than I'm expecting. How many boats normally show up for the Sunday run? And about what time do they all get out there?

I'm not sure what time the mud run is. Last year they were riding before lunch because low tide was at 11 am. There are some good pictures in last years thread of both runs.

I hope the rain holds off on Saturday. I have been checking the weather and it's about 50% chance of thunderstorms. I will have a good time either way but it will be best without rain.

Not much of a turn out. Tide wasn't that low so not much mud. Still had a good time hanging out with the folks that did show up. We all need to get together and have more ride days.
