Re: different kind of a problem
Adding to Kwiklab I would agree and I would work hard on the Ob. Move to the check cord and when your pup know's "here" then add in the e-collar. Call him in by name and "Here" and give a slite tug on the check cord at the same time you apply continous light e pressure. Use the continous mode on as light a setting as you can to see a reaction. As soon as he turns toward you, he makes eye contact and he starts in to you, let off the e pressure. As soon as he looses eye contact, starts off in another direction, runs past you........any indication he is not still coming directly in, lay on the e pressure again repeating his "name" and "here" command until he is again coming in. TIMING is everything...... He will get it in 10 minutes if your timing is spot on. Then lots of repeated drills in lots of different places. REMEMBER TIMING WITH THE E-COLLAR IS WHAT MAKES IT WORK CAUSE THEY LEARN HOW TO TURN OFF THE PRESSURE WITH COMPLIANCE but first they need to know the command. The nick or buzzer mode has little value in my opinion. Lay on the e pressure as lightly as needed and keep the finger on the button until he responds correctly then off the button. Good luck and remember never train when your upset or drunk. He will get it if you explain it to him correctly.......Duckdon

Re: different kind of a problem
Check cords are also a great way to solve your problem. As always, make sure they understand the command before using the e-collar--it is a tool to reinforce commands NOT teach them!
