Does anyone here do any of their events? I'm thinking that if I don't use my dog for hunting, we could still try to do Big Air, Extreme Vertical and Speed Retrieve. Seems like it would keep him active and in shape. Also gives me time to keep up with some type of training. There is Heart of Texas DockDogs just north of Houston. |

I just passed the George Brown Convention center, and they had a 18 wheeler with cabbalas and Dock Dog on side. |

I run them, and do well. The training that the " dock dog" people do is nothing like what we do for our field trail and hunt test dogs. It is a blast and fun for all breeds of dogs. |

Nice award there Gauge. Having a dog win big air is awesome. What was the distance that your dog won with? |

My lab hasn't done the big air but she has done some timed water retrieves. Her best time is a 100 yard water retrieve in 56 seconds. She took 2nd outta nearly 300 dogs last year up in Anoka Mn at Game Fair. fist place was 53 seconds. Its a bllast to watch all the dogs |

Members with dogs that don't hunt, but enjoy jumping, retireving and swimming? DockDogs is what is for you and your dog. ![]() In all seriousness. I am talking with the Director of DockDogs Affiliate Programs. I'm starting the process of getting a club start here in the southern part of Louisiana(Houma area). I don't plan to hunt with my dog but he likes the pool and jumping, so I figured why not get this going for others in my position. The closest club is HOT in Houston. The closest east is in Florida. So why not have one in this area. I'm hoping to get members from as far west as New Iberia and as far east as New Orleans. Northward could go into Gonzales. What you guys think? Is this getting that big? Seems to be. Would anyone here think about joining the club? Yearly dues are like $40 or so per team. I'm getting a quote on the same type of pool DD uses and looking for a small piece of land to set everything up for practices. Everything will be mobile, that way we can go to shows and such around the southern part of the state. I think if we can get 20 or so members at the start, we could do really well. So what you guys think? Any input is appreciated. |

Great weekend at the Buckmasters' Dock Dogs event. It was hot. Blaze wound up getting 2nd Junior jumper in the 5th Big Air wave with a 12'2" jump. His best for the whole weekend was 12"6". We stayed pretty consistant all weekend except for 1 bad throw on my part. Here are a few pics. One of the EV dogs. I tried Blaze at EV but he just didn't have the vertical jump strength. I think the winner in EV had a hieght of 6'10". |
