Post Delta Dock Dogs Club
Delta Dock Dogs is a newly organized club of Dock Dog jumping teams. We are in the very early stages of the getting everything together to showcase all the DD teams from Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and the western portions of Florida. If you are interested in learning more about Dock Dog jumping, visit www.dockdogs.com or us at deltadockdogs@att.net.
At this point we are gathering information from potential members and teams that may be interested. This activity will keep your dog active during the off-season. Anyone within the South Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama & Florida panhandle is welcomed to join. Once everything is up and running, we should have 2 places to practice, one being somewhere in the Houma, LA area and one just north of Picayune, MS. We are planning at least 3 events for the 1st year and will build on that. I have members that have been jumping dogs for some time now and know just about how everything should work. We even have other clubs helping out with giving us information and sending us contacts of people interested.
If you are interested, let me know by email. Your name, phone number, email and address is all that is needed for you to get information about what is going on.
Hope to see some of you here in the club.
Thanks
Chad

Post Re: Delta Dock Dogs Club
Just to let you guys know what is happening with the Delta Dock Dog club.

We have gotten our "potential" member list submitted to DockDogs. It has 18 members on it. They are from LA/MS/AL. We have a few interested from FL but haven't had contact with them. We have our board members in place. We are moving right along with getting this all setup and planning what events we want to have in the 2011-2012 season which begins in Oct.

In the meantime, I'm still practicing in my pool with my dog Blaze. I'm hitting a couple jumps in the next few months with a few of the other members to learn what everything is about. One will be in Montgomery,AL at the Buckmasters' Expo in August and the other is in Oct at Pet Fest north of Houston,TX.
However, I have a few members that have been doing this for a while now and will be very helpful in getting events ran right.

To begin, we will have a pond/dock in use, just north of Picayune, MS. Once we have events and such, we plan to have a 2nd location around the Houma area. I am also thinking of getting permission from a neighbor to build a dock on the bank of the pond in my neighborhood.

I was hoping for a better response from some of the members here, but I understand that most are tied up with other hobbies/sports and what-not. However, if you see that in the future, you may want to try out Dock Dog jumping with your dog, feel free to contact me at deltadockdogs@att.net. We are planning to have "Fun Days" which will allow you to come out and try it. You are even allowed to jump at events, even if not in any club. Any dog is allowed to jump and anyone is allowed to handle a jumping dog. Kids 7 and older are even allowed to team up with a dog.

I want to thank Tony for allowing me to put this here in order to get the word out.
Thanks
Chad

Update

Well, it's been a while and a pain to get this far, but it's time.
We have done everything DockDogs requires to become a club. At this time we are sending out Membership Applications for all those interested and get everything rolling to get an event setup for later this year. Possibly 2 if things work out right. Next year there should be a couple more.

So if anyone is interested, let me know and I can send you out an application. Becoming a member is a great benefit to the club and also has some perks.

Here are some of the things that are planned for members:
•Practice with members at Delta Dock Dog practice pools/docks
••Opportunity to earn Delta Dollars by helping at club events.(Not emplimented yet but will be once membership improves)
•Use Delta Dollars for practice fees, club event wave fees, club membership dues, or DDD apparel purchase at events.•Fun Jumps
•Access to Delta Dock Dogs Members Only board on the DockDogs forum
•Inclusion on Delta Dock Dogs club conference calls

PM me your email and I can send over the application.
