OK so I have been fighting on if I should post this or not but I cant allow another dog go thru what mine did. Im not going into details so please dont ask as I dont wanna talk about it, If you are haveing thoughts of sending your dog to Old Cypress Kennels in Kaplan DO NOT DO IT. He will lie to you and tell you your dog is doing well and learning and when you go out to see your dog he is always in a hurry and has to be somewhere and will only work your dog for a min. He will keep them on force for 4 solid months. I dont know for a fact but I have been told lately that he does not work the dogs like he claims he does. The kennels stunk so bad the last time I was there the amonia smell took your breath away. There was so much shit in the kennels that there was NO WAY it was from just one day, Not even 2 days. This guy will take your money and lie to your face.

I hope this warning can save a dog and owner from what me and my Jezebel have gone thru.

Lots of shitty trainers out there. Good ones though will take you out and show you what your dog is learning and let you watch the dog work.

Don't know the guy, but from his website, it sounds like he likes "talking" about training dogs,,,,maybe THAT'S what he's best at.

That's a good heads up.
When you spend good money just to buy a well bred dog and possibly months agonizing on decisions of which kennel, you damn well expect honesty when it come to a trainer.

I am considering trainers now! perfect timing for me.

that sucks....im sorry to hear about your dog having to experience that. a good question to ask trainers when looking at kennels is how often they are going to want you to come work with the dog. a good trainer not only trains the dog, but also trains the owner on how to handle that dog. a lot of hard work can be undone if handler and his dog are not on the same page. a good trainer will insist that you come train with them as the dog progresses through school.

His site says he is a hunter first and foremost. I bet he been hunting. Which is ok if you have a staff to care for the kennels while you are away for a day or 2.

If I was paying him, I wouldn't give 3 dammits what he was doing if it wasn't taking care of my dog. Can you imagine that guy putting Brad in a cage w/out a restroom and toilet paper and not feeding him and giving him something to drink for a couple days!!!
