My new pup was born today and I have 3 days to decide if I want to keep the dew claws or have them removed. My current lab has them and hasn't had a problem, but I have seen some horror stories involving dew claw injuries on working dogs. I do hunt a lot of ice and have heard that the dews help dogs pull themselves up on ice, but again have seen stories of the claws getting cut badly on ice. Please help, and quickly! |

Agreed, pull em. They don't serve a purpose, but tend to hang on things & hurt the dog. Sent by carrier pigeon. |

I wish my dogs would have been removed. They are a pain and everytime she is jumping or getting back up i just wait for that horror story. |
