2 months old. Barely away from the littermates. Give her a break. Work on crate training, sit, coming when called, housebreaking, stuff like that. Keep it all really fun. Go get a training book and read it. |

i agree with waiting...i also dealt with the same thing really frustrated me....key in on the natural instict of the dog....role a tennis ball in the house or where ever and if he/she doesnt pick it up role it again and make it fun....also get with another dog they learn in leaps and bounds from another dog |

If u want to get her going try and do small short retrieves, I found that a narrow hallway works the best. Its a short run and they have to come back towards u not run further away. Now if she was 6 months old and still soing this then you will probally need to force fetch her. U want to keep it a fun game for them they are kids the minute it becomes a work or not fun they will drop it |

Even outside dogs need manners. Especially if you plan to spend hours with them in a hunting blind, camp, boat, truck, 4-wheeler. etc. Coming when called is pretty handy when hunting. I stared my last pup on whistles and sit together almost the day he came home. I started him on hand signals with his feeding as soon as I could get him to sit without me holding his collar with the bowl on the floor. There are a lot of things you can teach the dog in the early months that will help you and the dog. |

You could always give the pup more incentive. Instincts are "cool" when "triggered" correctly. This is a 7 week old pup. bird imprinting & retriever awakening |

I got a video of my yellow at 12 weeks picking up a mallard outta the field, she had over 200 bird retireves by the time she was 1. |
