From what I understand, he was adopted by a family that had a baby. He's not good with babies. Not sure what went on, but he was brought back.

Buckwheat is a 3-5 year old yellow lab male surrendered by his family to the Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter, East Bank location. The family reports he is housebroken, good with children, other dogs and knows obedience commands such as “sit, shake, lay down”. He also is a great retriever! Buckwheat loves to “talk” to whomever is walking by his kennel and loves to be walked. The original post, from before he was taken in by the family that is putting him back up for adoption, said that he is not good with babies and toddlers. Not sure what that is supposed to mean or what he does to them. Maybe he just runs them over. IDK.
But I was told he is great with kids that are a little older.
I was just passing on what was said by someone that saw the original description from months ago.

All I can say is if interested contact Kim Lehman. She knows more about him. I was just putting it here to see if someone would be interested. This dog I do not know personally.

And a word of advice. If you are interested, go and check him out before commiting. Too many people just out of the blue adopt a dog that they know nothing about and then have to return it to the rescue or shelter.

Just to let everyone know. For some reason he was PTS. We were told when he was taken back in and evaluated, that he had strong aggression to people. A very good vet friend verified that he did have issues.
