I don't put my dog in water that I would not go on myself. What kind of sea states are we talking about? |

Tampa Bay florida if thats what your asking. I'm just wondering about the chop hitting him in the face , Since I had him I've trained him in the bay but it's not rough during the summer months but now it's a different animal dew to the north wind. |

I've seen dogs retrieve ducks in blizzard conditions on the Atlantic seaboard. They were frickin ready to go and did not hesitate one bit. Waves consumed them at times and they never hesitated. |

I've got no problems sending my dogs for a bird in almost any condition. All depends on the experience and confidence of said dog and owner. |

I send my dog in 6 foot rollers on Lake Michigan. I'm not concerned about the waves but I keep posted on how bad the under tow is. If reports are bad that's when I call it. Waves ain't gonna hurt the dog but the under tow will. |

Thanks fella's he might not be Ready for the open water yet , I'm still working him with a whistle , I think I waited to long with it so I will limit his retrieve's to back in the marsh untill he's got the whistle down 100%. Teal season he did great , but that was easy and strait out and strait back to the boat to hand. |
