I tried a quick search to see if this had been talked about and came up empty handed.

What do you guys use to keep the pup high and dry when you arent hunting from a boat? From what i can tell most of you hunt marsh flats and such. Ill be in buck brush and some tall sawgrass/cattails when i will need a stand for the pup. When i hunt timber areas i have an old lock on deer stand ive modified that works good enough. Pain in the ass to set up tho. I have looked at a few on the market (avery ruff hunting dog stand & banded hybrid slough dog stand) And figured i could build somethin much cheaper than those shindigs. Hit me with some pictures if possible!

I used a metal foldind chair once. It wasn't the best but it worked a little.

Yea ive been using one of those cloth folding chairs previously but it isnt quite tall enough at times and hes sitting in the water. Also when he bails out after a duck it turns over. I feel bad when hes stuck in the water most of the hunt.

Banded brand dogs stand. Great piece of equipment and adjustable. Only if I could get the dog to carry it in on long walks.

That banded looked like a nice stand. I actually attempted to order one from cabelas canada (were running a sale 79.99) but they emailed me back saying they were out of stock and cancelled the order. If I cant come up with a fairly easy build for one i will likely go with the Banded.

I've been using a Sportstand for the last 15 years or so. They are well made, light and very stable.

There is a link on the homepage of Duck hunting chat that has a DIY write up. You should check out Momarsh's Invisilab. It's awesome but high dollar.

Dog stand finished. Added a little step in case the pup has to swim up to the stand. Thanks for the link mudslut.

Used the bottom of an old lock on deer stand so it didn't take long at all to knock that project out.
