Here's my 2yr old British Lab Ruger. Hes been awesome to work with and train. At the house hes spot on with whistle and hand signals but when he gets to the field its like he is zoned out and focused on the retrieve, he just doesn't hear the whistle to stop and turn around. Does anyone have advise on this issue? |

Do you use an E-collar in training ? If so use the E-collar after he blows your sit command off .then give him the sit command again . Don't burn him hard the first time he blows you off . Just give him enough stimulation to get his attention the first time. Work up from there. Do not use the E-collar to do directional , just to sit so you have his attention to handle him. I'm no expert but this worked for my dog when he had this issue. Good luck ! |

If he is having issues with directions, bring some rocks with u..... I've seen it done before. Throw rock indirection you want him to go, (splash of rock will grab his attention) , then call out command...... Not fool proof, but could help If its up high, it's coming to the ground |

Thanks guys. I try to stay away from the E collar as much as possible but it looks like that will be the trick. Yes I have tried the rocks. |
