This one looks a little better than the other one you posted. Chopper (clubmead's road warrior) makes em a little loco! But I like Ford in the other one. My little female is direct out of Ford on top and a chopper bitch on the bottom.

This one actually belongs to a friend of mine. He is going to make a fine dog, no doubt. He is already well started. Hopefully my female will be just as good.

I know I'm late to the party, but here goes...
I trained with Ford for several years and as the high point amateur dog one year would suggest, even when judged among trial dogs, he was really special. He hasn't thrown much to trumpet about on the trial circuit, but you have to clearly state your goals. Do you want an AFC dog, or a great hunter? Personally, I like this pedigree. I have some rules of thumb that have served me well over the years.

1) black is better. You may get chocolate or yellow but ALWAYS ensure that one of the parents is black That way you know that it was not bred for color. Breeding for color is a way to play to the market, but is seldom the way to make the best dog.

2) Get a pup (directly) out of an AKC titled dog. FC, AFC, MH. Or UKC GRHRCH, HRCH, though my preference is AKC due to more reliance on marking in the judging.

3) Make sure the parents have the necessary health certifications. Hips, eyes, elbows, etc.

Those three rules will better the odds of getting a great one for sure.

This is a really nice pedigree. I've competed against Pow since he was a Derby dog and owned by Mitch Brown. He is extremely talented and really works well with Benjy. Overall just a very nice dog.
Like JB said Chopper always brings some juice, but his get can be really talented. This is a very nice breeding.

I have a chopper pup . A few months ago I was about to give up but he's really come a long way in the last few months. kameaux Has really started mellowing out and showing great results. A few months ago he would not hunt past decoys. Now he is going past decoys on blind retrieves to the other size of the pond. Here's a pic of my fat ass with the stupid shirt my wife picked out lol
