You only collar condition AFTER your dog completely understands the commands you are giving. Usually right after force fetch is a good time IF you have properly taught here, heel, sit |

I started my dog at 13 months after he had all the commands down, that's when he testicles got him thinking if he couldn't see me he didn't have to listen. 0-12 months he was the best minding dog without a collar, then he got his first whiff of pussy and it was all downhill. Labs are smart and no matter what you do they will get collar smart, he's good 95% of the time. But the one time I have my back turned he'll chase another dog trying to play or fuck. I've been Told the older they get they mellow out. Sent from...wait, Where am I? |

We usually collar condition to "here" when the pups start wanting to play keep away, which is usually about 4-5 months. Then finish collar conditioning when they are a little more mature and have had more training. This is usually after FF, but not always. Buck |
