 Need advice on setup
So I am going to upgrade from a 1436 to a bigger boat. Im gona go with an alweld since theres a dealer in town. For now I have a 20 hp gdlt that im gona put on my new boat until I can find a good deal on a used bigger longtail (25 hp and up)or I might just save up for a long while ang get a 36 pd. There will normally be 2-3 people in the boat, occasionally 4. I have read that alot of times that the 1648 boats wont plane out with 3 ppl, but the longer skinnier boats will. Should I go with a 16, 17, or 18foot with a 44,48 inch bottom etc? Keep in mind that I may have to use my 20 horse for next duck season, but eventually I am going to get a bigger motor. Also what speeds should I expect. Thanks guys

 Re: Need advice on setup
18x48'' alweld will outperform the 16x48'' alweld with 3-4 people all day long. even with the 20hp longtail. it will step easier and hold the load better. thank me later.

 Re: Need advice on setup
It depends on da motor type and HP of da motor. Also depends on how da boat is designed and built.
