Hi all,
I've got a 7 hp robin, electric start from Utah Marsh Motors. Had it for 3 years and it's been nothing but trouble

Just about every time I take it out, something doesn't work right or goes wrong.
Today, on the way back to the launch, my motor started smoking. I shut her down and paddled the rest of the way. I looked the motor over and the wires in the starter are fried, a green one and a black one (which appears to be a ground). I'm not a motorhead, although I wish I were.
What may be the cause of the fried wires? Should I just replace them or is this indicative of a larger issue? I really don't have many options in terms of repair shops in my area so I'll have to do this myself.
Thanks!
