Welfare isn't just for the poor, lazy,freeloaders The BIG republican farmers get it also. They call it "subsidies", here's a list for my area, (within 30 miles)
#20 is my neighbor up the road. This comes to a little more than what someone gets per child, but most look the other way. This is a "republican welfare program" all across the country, most people just don't realize it. Now keep in mind, this is just what "we" the taxpayers give them, plus what they make from farming. (3 mo's out of the year)

You have never seen so many pissed off farmers as when this was made public, and someone took a printout to the local coffee shop. The "poor" farmers were pissssssed!!

JC, It wasn't a comparison between gheto thugs and farmers, Just sayin there are many other "welfare" programs out there. Yes we do grow crops, but for the whole world, not just the USA. How many programs there are for NOT planting crops,(CRP programs cuz theres too much crops) I won't even get into how hard they work, I will just ask, when the crops are out in October, and fields are untouched till April. How much ass bustin is actually going on?
I guess all the subsidies the big oil gets, is ok, cuz without oil we cant farm!!

Do we need to subsidize the only grocery store in town also, because without it, nobody can eat?

Most all the farmers I know are democrats.....they push for the lifting of the embargo against cuba....they know that no republican will do it but a socialist democrat will. Also the majority of subsidies go to large corporate farms.....also the subsidies help to buy equipment, if the farmers had to pay for it your corn would be like 15 bucks an ear. Not saying its right but its what keeps you food budget less than your house note. We should not give people food stamps, we should give them a sack of rice and a sack of beans, we should not be giving people on food stamps more food than what the working class could afford.

Because most democrats are in the bottom 50% of all taxpayers who basically pay no income tax and are leeches sucking the blood out of this country. They will always vote to raise the taxes on the "rich" so they don't have to pay any income taxes and in fact can get a government subsidy (welfare, tax credit giving them a "refund" on taxes they never paid, etc). When over 50% of the people realized they can legally steal from the rich minority by imposing even more unfair taxes, this country is done for. The rich will not work for free and they will stop producing and hiring. The top 10% pay 68 percent of all income taxes collected and you still think that is unfair????

The problem with the democrat/republican debate is that democrats aren't democrats anymore, and republicans aren't republicans. Both parties have moved left. The once conservative principles of the republican party have been adopted by the libertarian and independent party, republicans are more centrists in their attempts to steal votes and left their voter base wondering who the hell to vote for. If the republican party wants to put a president into office they'll need to put a TRUE conservative in the running.

I am a Christian, Pro Gun, Anti Abortion, Anti Big Government, and believe that every man should maintain themselves with the sweat off their foreheads and their hard work, not off someone else's! That is why I'm a Republican.

My family came to this country in the 60's with only the clothes on their backs, literally and we've been able to succeed with nothing but hard work, determination, and financial responsibility. My family is from Cuba and they came to this country to escape Castro and Communism and I thank God everyday for allowing me to be born an American. But when I was growing up, my grandfather always told me that the only difference between a Communist and a Democrat was the clothes they wear. I didn't understand this back then but I do now. Listen to all of this talk about distribution of wealth and then go listen to any speech from Castro back in the 60's and you'll see that they share the same talking points. Unfortunately, poor people will always be poor, and the only thing that allows us succeed in life is our will and desire to succeed. If you don't have this, you won't, no matter how many government programs they put you in or how much they raise taxes on those that actually accomplish something in life.

So, Chico80x if we accept your premise that the Democratic party is like a Castro dictatorship, then we should expect Republicans to be rounded up and imprisoned any moment now, shouldn't we? I don't believe your logic stretches that far. There is no comparison.
