 winches??
are they worth it? thinking about it. yall that got em, ever been a time where you woulda been fuct without one. my boat pushes pretty easy but every time im pushin im thinkin got dang i need a winch. what ya think?

A good addition to a winch, if your running alone are a few pieces of 3-4" diameter PVC pipe to roll the boat on. Especially if you run areas with a hard bottom.
A spud pole has doubled for me as a leverage tool. I place it under the boat lift move the boat a few inches... repeat. It's slow but it will get you to deeper water or off a bad spot.
I carry a PLB as added security on all my boats. A Spot PLB can be picked up for $100 + activation & monitoring and is a small price to pay for added safety.

right on. i guess its not if you get stuck like chuck, its when. i must be lucky to be able to pushout all them times so far. i really been wanting a winch anyways. I like the idea of the pvc too.

I bought a extra 12v charger for my cell phone and keep that in the boat too cause I have had to many times where I rember my phone but forgot to charge it and its no good any way.

I haven't thought about a winch for a while. I considered one in the past. Question: What are you guys carrying / using for a pull point or anchor in situations where there is not a tree or stump handy to connect your winch lead to?

ive got a real thin jon boat and keep a winch on it. shoot, i used it today on a little run testin my motor. it was dam hot out and couldnt find anywhere to get in some shade to eat. drydocked the boat as best as possible and winched it up the rest of the way. now i need one for the back of the boat cause it was kinda a bich gettin it out
