Ten years Ago Today.. Where Were You??
Prayers and thoughts go out to all that lost life on September 11, 2001..
Where were you?
I was at home hooking up a sound system and installing the FD radio in the new truck I had bought July of that year. My wife at the time called me on the cell phone and told me I had better go watch the Breaking News that was unfolding before our eyes..
This was a tragic lose of life that is still unfolding Ten Years Later.. This day rewrote our history books, changed national security and altered the way America handles its buinesses to this day..
Prayers again to the Families of all that lost life on 9/11.. The death toll from this event has yet to be calculated. Rescue workers that worked Ground Zero the weeks after 9/11 have been feeling the prolonged effects of this due to cancer and other health issues.. And our Troops are still loosing life Over Seas..
Take a minute today and tell the ones you love that you love them. Today is here but Tomorrow is not Promised..
Thanks to all and Prayers From West TN. EARL33

Re: Ten years Ago Today.. Where Were You??
I was working at a little fab shop in Berwick. SMB Fabricators. Just me and one other guy was in the shop that day. The rest were offshore. We heard it on the radio and stopped working to just sit and listen. On my lunch break I went home and turned on the tv. I couldnt believe what was happening. Still to this day, its hard to believe that happened.

Ten years Ago Today.. Where Were You??
I was stationed at McDermott in Bayou Black.
I was in bed and hungover from a night of whiskey, cocaine and some of Morgan City's finest whores when a horrifying knock on the door forced me out of bed. I ran downstairs and witnessed the second plane crashing into the towers.
I'll never forget that.

I was still working as a paramedic and it was a slow day. We watched it from the the very beginning when the first reports started coming in.

I was leaving class at Lamar Univeristy, by the time I got to work the second plane was hitting the second tower. We sat there all day watching the news. Seems like yesterday. I remember just thinking about how helpless all those people were. Damn terrorist should burn in HELL...

Re: Ten years Ago Today.. Where Were You??
I was working in my decoy shop, walked up to my Grandparents' house (they are both gone now) and my grandma told me we were under attack, she was watching the news with her mouth wide open.
RIP all the men and women from that day, and peace be with all those left to carry the burden. We are winning this war in the long run, I feel confident that nothing like this will ever happen in America again, and am very proud of all those who insure that.

On deployment in Kosovo. Had just wished my wife a happy Anniversary! Hard to celebrate your wedding anniversary even now. Got back from Kosovo and started training to deploy. Was on ground new years day in Kuwait and was part of OIF1 the invasion of Iraq with 3ID. Hard to believe we still have troops dying in Iraq and Afgan. we didn't learn anything from Vietnam! SS

Re: Ten years Ago Today.. Where Were You??
I was a QC director for a board plant in New Iberia and one of the shift supervisors came in my office and told us about it. We didn't have a tv but tuned in on a radio.
What a sad day for America.
My mom won a contest put on by the M&M's company and won a trip to New York. I got to go with her. While there, part of the prize was dinner at Windows of the World restaurant on the top floors of the World Trade Center. After we ate they took us in a corner room overlooking the city. All I can tell you is that tv doesn't do any justice as to how tall those buildings were until you're there looking down at the rest of New York from inside it. Those poor souls that jumped had a long way down.
What got me more than watching those buildings fall was when they showed the celebrations in the arab countries. I could not believe those bastards and bitches were dancing in the streets about it. And to think there's people who worry about offending them, you know the politically correct crowd. Fuck them people. It was what it was, an attack on innocent people who did nothing to deserve it.
The political correctness is what will kill this country. Too many worrying about feelings. How about those who watched as the towers fell, knowing their loved ones were inside. How bout them feelings.
May God Bless those who were lost that day, and may those who participated or cheered it on burn in hell.

Re: Ten years Ago Today.. Where Were You??
When it happened I was on the way to work and heard it on the radio, the reports were only spotty at the time and remeber them saying how a plane had just crashed into one of the towers, and I was confused as to how a little Cessna or some sort of plane would crash into the towers. Boy was I confused!!!!!!!!!
Wierd thing about so much of it is my wife and I were married on September 11, 1998. We celebrated 13 years today. Our anniversary will forever be shared with this national tragedy.
As others have said, God bless America and especially those that died that day. Those families that lost loved ones that day will never be the same. Our prayers should go out to those people too as they have the burden of carrying on.
I was reading a good article in one of today's papers about AMerica's reseliency and the hard working people, and 9/11 is not to blame for all our current problems, but the evidence sure does point that alot of our financial crisis was not helped by all sorts of events from 9/11.

Re: Ten years Ago Today.. Where Were You??
I was in 1st grade doing mad minute math.
Another teacher came to our room in tears and whispered in our teachers ear, she got choked up but continued teaching. When I got home I remember my parents talking about it and not really understanding why those people would want to hurt us, to this day I still don't completely get it.
God bless those lost and their families.

Ten years Ago Today.. Where Were You??
I want to thank all that posted on this thread. I see that no matter what motor you run deep inside we all are the same people. I was hoping and figured I would get a few active duty guys from 10 year ago chime in. And thank you. It's like when Elvis died I guess. But maybe different. It's a day I will not forget and I hope many others will not also. I myself deal with the effects of this event every day. We train on the what ifs and what could be's on a daily basis. Don't let your guard down and be aware of whats going on around you. Thanks to all that posted.

I was in 11th grade in my Algebra 2 class when the Tv's turned on and informed us about what happened. Sure was an eerie feeling. It still seems like it was yesterday cause I can remember the scene in my head when I found out.

I was out hunting early season geese with a buddy of mine. We had killed 8 that morning and I shot 2 that where banded. To say the least I was alittle excited. I stopeed in where my mom was working to show her and she had tears in her eyes. I had missed everything that happened but they where replaying it on the news. I remeber thinking that it wasn't real and it honestly took me a bit before it set in..

I was getting ready for work when my dad called me and told me we were under attack. I turned on the TV just in time to see the second tower get hit and I remember the whole thing being surreal to me. I swear I felt like if the US was going to invaded that night and the worst part about it for me, was not knowing what the hell was going on and who was doing this.
