Wanna switch from LT to SD

 Wanna switch from LT to SD
I have 27 beavertail and wanna switch to a surface drive . My boat is a 14x48, what would a good motor be? Also, what am I looking at $$$ wise.

Its not worth the hassle if you keep it on that boat.

x3. That said, there is a possibility you never needed a mud motor to begin with and I've seen it happen before. A conventional outboard (say a 25 HP) will push that 1448 real good as opposed to a 23/27 SD, which are more expensive. Definitely go with a bigger hull (16-18) if you do choose the SD route.
