There was a decent sized group out there both weekends I was there and quite a few throughout the week too. Lots of mudboaters out there. Nice meeting all those I met who are on this forum and nice seeing others that I've met before again. Most of the folks out there never heard of this place though. I told them all to make sure they stop in to sign the "ban Paleo" petition.

Nicest thing about seeing them was passing the big party barges dumping their coolers full of empty's in the water and the fellas in mudboats taking the time to stop and pick them all up. Kudos to you guys! Keep up that kinda stuff and be courteous to other boaters and locals out there, and it will be a place we'll be able to enjoy for many years to come. Hopefully we can get something like TJ was talking about this last weekend worked out and get together with the Save Caddo Lake people and really make a ride for a good cause one of the next couple years. It is definitely in our best interest to continue to try to do good things out there and let those people know we aren't just a bunch of jackasses with loud boats out there tearing stuff up and making a mess.

Seemed everytime I turned around, I was picking up another can. What really pissed me off was the bottles I picked up at the swimming hole. Some people are just sorry & always will be. Another thing that kinda hacked me off was the GW wanted to come bust our balls Fri & Sat, but this morning (10:30) when me & Brian went for 1 last run, there was a dude in a bass boat passed out drunk in Star Ditch!!!! Who's passed out @ 10:30 in the morning???!!!!! Not even Jesse gets that drunk.

Onion island was pretty sad. I was over there the weekend before and when we left, that place was spotless. Someone completely trashed that little area sometime during the middle of the week. Thanks again to all those who helped clean it up.

Just to clear up any misconceptions if there were any. Rob and Rod is who I spent most of the time hanging out with last year at caddo and we pretty much planned right then that we were going to meet up out there again this year. Rod wasn't able to make it, unfortunately, and Rob brought two other guys with him. I invited a few of the other more local guys, most of whom I'll let know we're going to be in the area anytime we head over that way. Several of them were able to make it and we wound up having a decent little turnout for the weekend.

It wasn't anything personal and I don't want to rub it in people's faces that we had a "private ride". Wasn't really like that, it was a really small deal and I didn't really know for sure that anyone but my family and rob were going to be there this weekend until earlier in the week before I left. We had originally talked about a couple more boat's, but I'm glad we kept it as small as we did because quite a few of the guys in the area were able to make it and the size of the group saturday morning was just about perfect for out there. Almost everyone headed home after the storm in the AM and it was only a few of us for the afternoon and evening.

If you guys want to come up and ride caddo, the best thing to do is plan a weekend, get you a small group together, get with one of the guys in the area to kinda show you around, and go have a good time. Most of the guys around there love that place as much as I do and don't need much of an excuse to go for a ride. I did talk to a few other folks who posted earlier in this thread about doing something like this, but nothing ever materialized.

It sucks I had to miss it, i will be at the next one. its awesome to see you guys had fun and helped out the lake at the same time.

We use to do that when I was stationed in Pensacola, Fl. we use to go canoeing on the Black river and they wouold let our group canoe for free and in return we would clean up the river.
