Oil Pressure:
When oil wells are drilled, the oil is almost always found to be under great pressure. This presents a problem for those who claim "millions of years" for the age of oil, simply because rocks are porous. For as time goes by, the oil should seep into tiny pores in the surrounding rock, and, over time, reduce the pressure. However, for some reason it doesn't. Perhaps because our oil deposits were created as a result of Noah's Flood only about 4600 years ago? Some scientists say that after about 10,000 years little pressure should be left.

From a geology standpoint you might like this. Oil has yet to be extracted from the rocks that were uplifted through geologic time. Even rocks that are granite in contnet contian oil this leaves a vast undeveloped resource in which oil can be extracted. Even other types of rocks where oil is most readily found are far from being exploitied. The shale, limestone, sandstones,ect.... (sedimentary rocks) are such that thier poriosity contians more oil than can be extracted in several life times. Even then we could mine the granite rocks for thier oil (which is an unknown and untapped resource).
While I agree there is a limited resource of oil in the way we extract it, there is a whole new way to supply world in coming generations. You'll know it's getting close to that time when you see investors start buying mountians for thier oil exploration. As far as i know we are not to that point yet.

I believe that alternative energy sources are a good thing. Let private industry come up with one that is viable, affordable, and works, and I will have no problem using it. One day the oil will run out, and we will have to have another source. Necessity is the mother of ingenuity.

What I do not want, is Al Gore stupidity forced on me, when it does not work, is not affordable, and costs the tax payer more money.

I also think that by the time all the oil is explotied we will have developed a way to harness hydrofusion as a viable energy source.
