Lookn to buy some hydro turf to put in ma rig and not sure what mold to go with, and how hard is it to install?? lemme know what yall got and how yalll like it

you need to check out the nonskid I painted on my floor and deck. Easy and cheap..

mine is Alum. Boat Green.. from Durelux. THAT PAINT IS AWESOME !!!!

spray alum. bright, dry off, and PAINT....

the nonskid cost about $5.00, and a quart of that paint is $15.00 a gallon is $35.00

I got a contact at Shannon Hardware.. If you just go buy that paint, it is like $50.00 a gallon. I only used a quart for my floor, deck, and top rail. That is probaly all you need also.. I have enough nonskid left over, You wouldnt have to buy it.. Let me know, I"ll do it for you. Just make sure you pressure wash were you want to paint, then the paint will stick on paint pretty easily.

Bro put some turf in it and be done with it!! The shit is nice!! 100 degrees and you can walk on it bare footed!! Paint and sand is a temporary fix !! Why i say this well speaken from experance

Most of us got the B-grade which was about 25.00 a sheet w/o sticky backing if I remember correctly. They get B-grade from time to time but since it became a MM staple a few years back its hard to find. Just have to watch the site and order quick. B=grade is the grey diamond seconds.

i like dat diamond pattern they have but dont know how dat stuff holds up... im pretty hard on equipt.

I have had mine in for 2 years and it has a few nicks now but still 98%. And you can't be any harder on it than I am. Tons of brush, lumber, wire and everything else that can be hauled. I'd never have a boat without it.

it holds up to abuse just fine MAKE SURE the metal isnt cold but also not too hot when you put the stuff down

The Molded Groove is the longest lasting (according to hydroturf.com custermer service) but the cut groove comes in larger sheets for decks if you dont wanna peice the deck together (dependin on the size of the boat you may still have to peice a little of the deck together even with the larger sheet)

GET THE 3M BACKING already put on it but also get some either weldwood cement or 3M Super 90 Spray to also put down for a FOR SURE hold

I ordered a shit load of free samples the other day. they have quite the selection. I like the tan camo!

Yes, it is simple. Lay it in and make your cuts. Like laying carpet. I used the DAP weldwood glue which is what hydroturf suggest if you don't add the glue backing. About $15.00 for a qt can compaired to the $25.00 per sheet for the backing. I think a quart can did my 5 sheets cut in. Only thing you need to compensate for is a little expansion when glueing. It grows about a 1/4" or so because it flexable. You brush on the glue with a paint brush. Do both the turf and hull. Let it set up and the glue will really only stick to something else with glue on it. But you need to have it lined up because that chit sticks and trying to pull it up may cause the turf to tear.

if your paint color closely resembles the PD Green then the Gator Boat Brown that gatortrax sales will be a better color match if thats worries you....they call it brown but when put in a PD boat it matches perfect and when put in a Gator Trax brown boat it closely resembles the brown but with a greenish tent to it...pretty funny how that works

Never used the weldwood but if you use the 3M spray no matter what let it sit for minute and get tacky

Also the more hands and feet you got the better! When I do mine I try to have atleast 2 other people plus me but 4 people including you will make it the best hold

I have 2 people outside the boat holding the turf and start at one end (meaning go the length of the boat) I spray about 1/4 of the floor where I'm gonna start then spray little more then 1/4 of the turf let the stuff tack up then set it where I want to start with me bein in the boat (i recomend no shoes/boots on but with socks on)

Then hold the excess up in my hand while I walk across the turf and the people outside help guide it down the edge or same distance from the edge...then stop little before where my spray stops (this where the 4th person would come in handy) and spray bout 1/4 more on hull and turf let it tack and then walk it down some more.

I do i this way to totally ensure it goes down the best and minimizes the air bubbles by only doing bout a 1/4 at a time and walking evenly across the turf several times

Yes, just clean it good unless its new.

speakin of cleanin...MAKE SURE you clean the entire floor or any area gonna be covered EXTREMELY WELL! especially the corner areas...I use acetone when I do mine

I have also seen where folks have painted the turf when camoing the boats and they said it held up well. Gonna paint mine when I repaint my boat in the future.
