 Replacement Bushing purchase
Hey guys. I need some bushings and seals for my Longtail. I have a 1" outside diameter and a 3/4" shaft. Ive been on the McMaster Carr website and can't figure out exactly what I need. Anybody care to point me in the right direction? Thanks

 Re: Replacement Bushing purchase
Try Motion Industries. They can sell you both seals and bushings but you need to know the length required. There should be one near you. Ask for 841 bronze bushings. Or just call Go-devil.

 Re: Replacement Bushing purchase
Thanks for the advice. I'll look into that next week. I have the old stuff out so I can use that for reference. One o the bushings has an 8 on it and the other a 6. They look identical, any idea on what the numbers mean?

if the inside diameter of your shaft housing is 1in or the outside diameter of the bushing is 1"? If the bushing is 1''od and 3/4'' id then you can get them at ace hardware, tractor supply, other hardware stores for around $2 each

Really? I didn't realize that a hardware store would have anything like that? I went to motion industries this morning and they said that they couldn't help me and that I needed to go to a machine shop. The joys of living in central ga

 Re: Replacement Bushing purchase
I am in the process of a build myself. I got my DOM from a local supplier, 1 1/4" o.d., .095 wall thickness, with an i.d. of 1.0625. Yes stores like tractor supply and hardware stores have bronze bearings, but in this case they will not fit, as they are only 1" o.d. I was able to go to Purvis Bearing and get some 1 1/8" and turn them down, or you can order the exact size from first bronze( they still might need to be sanded down a bit). Good luck and use patience.
