Post Re: Accepting New Mud Motor Technology
I love this one, good reading thanks for starting it.
I can't help but think that besides whats already out there that there will be different and exciting things coming. It also reminds me of John Britton, for those of you who don't know who he is he was a New Zealander who built a motorcycle in his shed out of carbon firbre in ghe early 90's while it was still an experimental product, took his bike to Daytona and beat the big 3 manufactures. A lot of what he built into that bike is still only now becoming main stream. Watch the doco its worth it) So never say its all been done or it won't work.
My 10 cents, Thanksbritton.jpg

Actually it is from FORMER mud buddy owners. And the "unicorn" name came from here. Where else would they get it, I'd say they owe mmt 500mo starting back in August. That's 3k in back payment, or! They can donate a unicorn and let one of these guys test it for real in Louisiana.

Like I said, not much $$ to gain from it. And yes it came from here with all the back and forth between the sites everyone is doing. I vote DDM to test it.

I'll test that bitch.... First, let me drive it behind my truck down a couple pot-hole filled dirt roads and see if I can get it to snap off the transom first though... before I go out on the lake and get stranded.

I think that a lot of the new people on the site looking to get a mb read posts and back away from mb....thats what i have seen, so i dont know if the "free advertising" is that free. its costing him sales.[/quote]

I can sorta see your point. But I tell ya what..I'm the kind of feller that don't give a damn what anyone else says about a builder, owner or whatever. I'm gonna plunk my money down everytime on what i feel is the best product on the market regardless of what people may think of the company or who runs it. I work too many dam hours in this stupid cubicle going thru data all day long to earn my money to not spend it on what may be the best product just because of what some people may say on an internet forum. I like the simplicity of GD. I've run a friends PD and all those hydraulic lines going all over the place from the guys trim and reverse system looked like an octopuss hanging on the transom. Both featues worked ok but it just looked like problems were a comin someday. I have to admit that these newunicorns interest me now because the shifting mechanism is just like what I am used to with my Yammie 40. I still wouldn't buy one just off of comments. good or bad, on a web forum though. Maybe one day when the rainbow gets high enough in the sky one of these unicorns will come sliding down it and we'll all get to take a spin and see for ourselves.

It was the CS stories that concerned me. Without a nearby dealership, I'm pretty much on my own and need (1) a reliable motor and (2)good CS to assist me with my own repairs if necessary.

After speaking with the folks at GT (Bubba) a few times, I believe he'd help me with any issues. I don't see anyone on here trashing GT's customer service. That matters to me as a consumer who isn't familiar with these motors.

There are several people on here that wish they would have taken some of the advise of others on here, this is a hobby that mistakes can get expensive. Did u come here to ask a question on just argue with others?

To troll. And make a case for mud buddy. But he doesn't understand once you've had the koolaid all you can do is shake your head at mb owners. If he doesn't want to take the advise of the experts on this forum then let him make the mistakes that I and many others made. He'll figure it out soon enough.

I have never had an issue with Mudbuddy CS my calls are always taken or returned in a timely manner and I have even had free repairs done by Glen himself when I have taken my motor in for minor repairs or mods. Maybe it is different because I am so close to them I will agree that they need more help in sales, support, and in the shop but I have been very pleased with them.

Found it.......Contrapel... I knew there was something really new in the way of propulsion coming. This may be double as a mud pump to. Its not a jet and its able to be used above and before water line.
Its being desined and tested by a southland school teacher and a farmer.
If I see them at the next boat show I'll pick their brain about a open prop mud application

Post Re: Accepting New Mud Motor Technology
Just found out one of my buddies here at school has been on the waiting list for this Unicorn since April or so. Their boat got rear ended and totaled the prodrive he had on it so now they have a brand new boat collecting dust. I tried to convince him to back out of the order and get a GTR but for some reason they are set on this Sport V. About a week ago he said the motor was expected to be delivered in a few weeks.... I just laughed when he told me   But he did say I could go with him the first time he takes it out. So ill take the GoPro out there and get yall a solid video and a review.
