 Whats up with ProDrive
Just taking a step back on the mud motor market, Gator Tail has come up with several new things over the past 2 years, Mud Puppy finally is trying to step up, but wheres ProDrive? Haven't heard anything new from them or mods to their motors. Was wondering if somebody knows if their working on anything new or up theirs sleeves?

 Re: Whats up with ProDrive
One would think they might be. Ive often wondered how strong their sales are considering a lot on here seem to making a transition to the gtr. Im very happy with my pd though. With the terrain i run it does its job well.

 Re: Whats up with ProDrive
I think the PD and the GTR are different enough to where I dont think much needs to be done. Its a good engine with good customer support. and the things haul ass backwards.. sounds like enough innovation to me for a while until the briggs big block becomes outdated.

 Re: Whats up with ProDrive
Oh wait.. airboat style stick steer on the pd is pretty sweet. Got to test that out.

 Re: Whats up with ProDrive
I'm down with the stick steering, pretty cool. I wonder how hard that SOB is to turn though...I run outboards with stick steer before but these things are a lot more to handle on the tiller

 Re: Whats up with ProDrive
I like that...put some instant reverse/full power and steal the market.....
If you look at the steering it pretty solid, the old "boomerang" style you rig in mud boats, not the push pull cable shit....

 Re: Whats up with ProDrive
The stick steer is cool. The steering wouldn't be that hard I don't think because the shorter shaft doesn't need as much throw as a longer out drive MM. I think it's a good compromise if you have long runs and what to stay comfortable and save space compared to a CC.

 Re: Whats up with ProDrive
my buddy has one with a 36pd on it. i have driven it and it was pretty sweet. it alot easier to turn that thing sharp than a tiller because you not having to swing with the motor. made it really easy to take really narrow winding cuts.

 Re: Whats up with ProDrive
gator tail hasnt done anything impressive. New engine(nothing to do with the gatortail frame)
and a reverse plate that helps but reverse still wont back off a bank or in lillies

 Re: Whats up with ProDrive
I began asking prodrive 2 years ago if they were working on anything that would improve the drive angle and they always said no.....seems they could have a jack plate system to lower the unit to use reverse and keep cav plate under the boat with an improved drive angle....also they could adopt the free floating handle because you can hurt your self with that tiller handle when ya hit something wot!!!
