All yall failed to notice how it took very little throttle to move and it bit really quick without running the engine at 6000rpm...

As soft as that mud was it shouldn't have been hard to get up and go at all. I wanna see it I some hard mud that u have to fight. That's where the test will be. My prodrive would've been up and out that shit quicker in reverse or forward.

I think they are ugly as heck but there is no denying the outboard style forward/reverse is petty sweet.

So Todd just say what your implying. Since I or others say we turn 6000 in reverse that that what needed to get my rig to go. First off in that mud he was in reverse ain't even needed to take off. For some one who knows so much about mm knows so little about the conditions they run in.

My take on the new motor. Their gonna do well in mud and all other condition. Only test is will the housing hold up to abuse in stumps and logs. Not the gears but the actual casting. Will oil in the lower unit be a problem. I really think now that 3 have reverse the 4th better come to the plate and come quick. I know one thing it will do better than a pd in the mud that is for shore like it or not cause it pulls the mud to you not pushes it away. Same way gt is good in mud.

When in thick mud it don't mix. A pd blows a hole put it in reverse it does the same thing. Like I said in thick mud a gt pulls it in and pushes it out mixing the once thick mud into a batter. After hole is mixed back up till levee of mud hit against back board this is do when you take off prop doesn't catch air. Best way I can explain it. Class over lol

Then what is the pd reverse even good for? If it doesn't help in mud, putting the boat in the water from the ramp it woul be quicker than turning the whole Lu around to just put a pole in the water

They all have their place. Just depends on what and where you run. Mayne the pd dont do as good in the mud...i can accept that. We dont have that stuff up here so its not a deal breaker for me. Same with my truck. If i ran alot of bad mud id have a set of 35s with front and rear lockers. But i dont so its not an issue.
