Post Pros and cons of 3 blades
I searched and didn't find thread exactly on this subject. What's the pros and cons of a 3 blade vs stock 2. Speed, hole shot, vibs etc?

Pro with 3 blade - better hunting season prop
1. Better Holeshot
2. Reduced Vibration
3. Faster Under Heavy Load

Pro with 2 blade - better summer fishing prop
1. Faster with light loads
2. Better in vegitation
3. Better over sandbars and hard bottoms

At least that is how I compare the GDSD 3 blade with the GDSD 2 blade

From your comparison, seems to me like I would rather the 2 blade for hunting season and 3 blade for summer time. Unless all you run during hunting season is deep water. 2 blade = root mule all terrain prop, 3 blade = deep water speed prop

I usually run a shallow sandy river or shallow bays. Sounds like ill keep the 2 blade.

The 3 blade sucks to me.. keep the 2 blade. If your looking for more "Ommf", really the only way to get it out of a prop is more cup, which might require you to mod your motor. Break Out Another Thousand..

Post Re: Pros and cons of 3 blades
Hope this helps but I run a two blade. My buddy got a new motor with a 3 blade prop so I put it on my GDSD to see if I liked it. With two people, small load, I was not impressed, did not seem much faster in deeper water, it was actually 1 mph slower than the two blade. My problem with the three blade was it was harder to keep in the water, the two blade does not blow out at all.
This was what I noticed on my 16x48 boat anyway. I wanted a 3 blade for more load carrying but will not sacrifice fighting the motor with that prop.
