Anyone heard any info on this, my girlfriend just texted me and said some kid shoot his girlfriend mother and is now on the run with a loaded weapon.

PONCHATOULA- A woman was shot and killed, a teenager wanted in connection with the shooting is on the loose, and the city's high school is on lockdown because of the situation Monday morning.

Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's deputies said Ryan Pourciau, 18, is a person of interest in the death of April Vanderlinden, 39. Vanderlinden was shot on Brookfield Drive, off Esterbrook. She was pronounced dead at an area hospital.

Pourciau is also wanted for violating protective orders.

Deputies said Ponchatoula High School, about two miles from the scene, was put on lockdown because he "had connections to PHS," Chief Dennis Pevey said.

Pevey said the school is on lockdown until further notice.

True. Ponchatoula High School is on lockdown as of this afternoon due to the proximity of the incident to the school. All other Ponchatoula Schools are on a soft lockdown which, as I understand it, means police campus surveillance.

Apparently the shooter is the ex boyfriend of the victim's daughter. The victim had a protective order placed on the suspect on behalf of the daughter.

My dad works with the guy(husband of woman who was shot). It happened early this morning, when he was called to come home immediately. The kid is an 18 yr old that was trying to date his 14yr old daughter. A restraining order was put on him. Wife confronted him this morning when he showed up and the bastard shot her. Very sad story, a now 8 yr old boy and 14 yr old daughter is with out a mother bc a little prick that needs to be impailed by a dull blade

Actually, this is not new. Remember Billy the Kid? I have read old newspapers (1890s) and this kind of stuff happened more than we think. With our instant media, we just are informed about more instances than ever in history. Not that it makes it any less tragic.

Don't know this fella so I checked him out on fb. It's evident he was going through so troubled times. However, He deserves punishment to the fullest extent for doing this.

Caught that piece of shit! Found him in the same subdivision. Apparently there was gunfire exchanged between law enforcement and suspect. Suspect was wounded and rushed to local hospital in ambulance.

That's where they got it wrong. Should have let him bleed out, call for the hearse and transport him to local coroner.

Thats terrible. I wish the families all of the justice I would expect.

News said they found him hiding in the same damn house where he shot the lady.

Hope they broke a few bones with their knife stick at least!
