Post Federal Couragia MT's
Anyone have or had these tires? I need some new 35s for my truck, and these seem to be really well priced. Do they last?

I'm looking at buying a new truck right now that the dealer puts these on. I'm sure they do it for the most obvious reasons: it's the cheapest tire that makes the truck look good sitting on the lot... So I'd like to hear if they're worth a damn too. This is on a 3/4 ton too, so it's a good bit more weight.

Cheap...30,000 mile tire if you rotate and maintain air pressure...

My supervisor had em on his yota and I don't think they wore any in the 6mos he had em. Another feller I worked with had em on a dodge with a Cummins and they didn't last long at all

I don't think you would be happy with them Bailey, my brother is a cotton farmer and he had a set of 35's on a 2006 f250 and I think they went pretty fast, and all that truck did was run from the shop to the fields. I have heard good things about toyo mt's so that's what I put on the duramax I just bought. Only got about 600 miles on them but they ride good.

Cooper discoverer AT3, just put the second set on my dmax, 28575r16 less than $1k installed. Last a while and have a good tread. Cooper all the way for me.

They don't last as long as the top tires (toyo cooper nitto hankook) but if u don't want to spend those prices then go wit the federals.

I'm not talking about buying these tires. The dealer already put them on the truck I may be about to buy. I was just curious if I'd get any miles out of them. The only mud tires I'll ever buy again are the BFG Mud Terrain KM2's. They're pricier than the rest for a reason! They're awesome! If I get this truck, I'll just turn the Federals into racing slicks over the next year then put the BFG's on and be happy...

I'll agree with the Cooper statement also. Had the Discoverer ST 305's on my last diesel. They rode great, lasted, and were pretty aggressive off road. Even took my diesel over bottomless beach sand with a 30' boat trailer behind me without any problems. Cooper is my second pick.

Yeah, my first set was the original KM's. I tried to find another set when they finally wore out, but I couldn't track down four of them after they were discontinued. I've been more than happy with the KM2's though, and I've found they self clean better than the KM's in the thick, sticky, clay type mud where I hunt in Alabama.

I just went through the whole tire purchase headache. I looked into these federals pretty extensively and read more bad reviews than good. A couple of guys at the shop have them and bitch that they wear fast but they kinda figured that would happen with such a cheap tire. I got 33x12.50x20 and went with toyo mts and have zero complaints thus far. For a mud tire they are very quiet and ride smooth, pull good in the dirt too. I paid $100 bucks more per tire for toyo but I expect 20k more miles on the toyo than the federals.

By the way, the majority of bad reviews were that they wear quick and split on the side walls.

Im a huge fan of the KM2 as well. i have them on my mud truck and they last longer than any other tire that was on there. The performance is pretty good to, def no swamper but way better than the MT MTZ i had on before them.

There's no doubt about what kinda tire the BFG KM was an what the KM2's are. I had 2 sets on KM's before they came out with the KM2 and I ran 2 sets of those. I have just heard good thinks about the toyo and at almost $300 cheaper for a set I figured I'd try the toyo. I talked to my little brother about his old style KM's the other day and he said he has passed the 70,000 mile mark on a set of 305's on his work truck and they are still going strong!!!

I had a set of Hankook MT's . They wear and ride great. I'm running Mickey Thomson Baja MT's now. Not going to get near re mileage out of the Mickeys.

Had grapplers and hated them. Way too damn loud, and to me they really dont even look that good. Way overrated, and too many punk kids have them on daddys z71..

Mud tire buying tip..... If you worried about traction get Super Swampers, You worried about looks try Grapplers, you worried about mileage stay away from M/T's

I ran toyos on my 05 z71 till i lifted it and they were nice cause i found a good deal.. once it was lifted the Mud grapplers were the look i wanted and the noise doesnt bother me. I found they did pretty good off road (down trails, ruts, ditch here or there) got 35-40k out of em with a great alignment, regular rotation, and good pressure. now im trying to decide what to put on the new fx4... stuck between the toyo M/T's and the Mud Grapplers

biggest impact on performance of a mud tire both on and off road is the driver. some people turn too hard too fast and eat up tires... others dont understand concepts of driving thru mud. ive seen way too many guys think there in a pro mod mud truck and just hammer down into a hole and just digg themselves into a rut.. unless you got ridiculous horse power, your best bet if your sittin on m/ts, is usually go just as fast as ya have to to keep moving..

When u have a good self cleaning mud tire (which a mud grappler is far from) you have the ability to did your way out bc it doesn't cake up and keeps biting.

Tell them you will buy the truck if they put tire "X" on it. They will pull those federals off and stick them on another truck.

Worth a shot. If they dont do it, just tell them you're gonna go buy somewhere else.
