It don't work. Get it in heavy vegetation and it kicks your motor out the water. A trim would help it dig without kicking it out the water

I am thinkin bout welding on a bracket and replacing existing manual trim knob with a 12v linear actuator that way it'll still be balanced and still Kick up when needed . . . Would like to be able to make quick trim adjustments on the fly. Kinda hard to reach the trim bcuz of my hunt deck on back

Seems like we would need neutral if we went with power trim on GDSD's...

Team marsh mafia. The problem you have is the same problem all balanced motors have. When the shit gets thick you have to try to put the prop into the water. Trim will keep it their and chew it up. If the prop can't bite then theirs no forward motion to move the boat. I say you try it can't hurt anything.

GDSD - 101

The GDSD SD prop is meant to "surface" - IE only the bottom half of the
prop engages the water when on plane and at speed....

If you submerge the prop too much - you loose speed....
If you "air out" or lift the prop too much - you loose speed...

The trick is to find the "sweet spot" where speed is maxed and best
performance is reached.... In veggies it is best to maintain speed
and occasionally -"air out" - or lift the prop for just a split second
from time to time to run "clean" and prevent veggies from wrapping
up on your prop.... When you plan to stop in veggies - totally lift
the outdrive all the way up and let the hull settle and stop.... When
you take back off - go deep for only a second or two then bring the
prop back up to its elevated surfacing position - and resume speed
on plane as before....

DDM - wants you to do the opposite - cause it leads to a bunch of veggies
wrapping up on the 3 blade and its blades can not push when it is wrapped
up like a ball.... The trim deep in vegies tactics that work on a PD or GTR
simply do not work on a GDSD....

Dumbass I'm sure his problem he's having is at slow speeds. That's why he wants to have a trim.

DDM he talking about running Lilly's in deep water. Once u pick motor out with mud/lilly u stop moving and can't "air out"

This dude never said a thing about lillies. His question is simply about a trim.

The way you're talking about doing it sounds like a good idea that would work. I'm guessing the linear actuator would just push against the steel bracket that the trim screw pushes against now to continue to allow it to free float. Post pics on any progress, please.

I don have a prob in veggies. I jus do like giga says and lift prop out of water and clear out the crap and drop her down an go back to eatin. The prob I have is I do alot of changing from Deep to shallow and shallow to deep water. I lose 6 or 7 mph in deep water unless I adjust my trim

OK - thats what I thought...

Your just running a bit too deep...

A quick tab bend will get you "dialed in" and you won't
need to run on the stop at all....

Bend the trailing edges of the 2 bottom horizontal fins - down 1/8"
at a time and test after each bend at different speeds....

Use a big azz cresent to adjust....

When it's "dialed in" - it should make you smile and drive better overall...

Post Re: power trim on GD 35 SD
If you bought it used - most guys bend those tabs UP cause
it adds a bit of life to a worn out prop....

If they are bent up - bent them straight first - then adjust from there....

A little bend makes a big difference in the "hydro-dynamics" of the
fin design - it needs to "self-adjust" to work at max potential....

Good Luck - and feel free to PM me for more help - I'm east of Houston
if you are ever over here lets cut a trail in WallysVille....
