 Prodrive prop removal
so I've started to attemp to take my prop off. I'm already searched, and read as much as could. I've located the stop and I'm using the 3/16 rachet extension. To get the prop off I'm using a trucker breaker bar. It catches both blades and is about 2-2.5 ft. I was putting so much force on it it looked like I was deflecting the shaft. Still the prop didn't budge. Do I need more leverage?

 Re: Prodrive prop removal
Get a 6-7ft 2x4 and put a hole big enough to fit over the prop nut about 12" from the end of the board and try it again

 Re: Prodrive prop removal
I had to heat mine up last time only because the previous owner didn't know what never seize is. If you have to go that route just keep the heat away from the seal.

 Re: Prodrive prop removal
Take mine off with a 3' crow bar. Can't stand the threaded prop, they're finally going to change that soon...

I use a 4ft 2x4. It doesn't take long once you get the hang of it.

 Re: Prodrive prop removal
If you have alot of prop strikes where you run, its a PITA to take that prop off no matter what you use.

 Re: Prodrive prop removal
Alright I got it off, just needed a 4 ft 2x4. My next question is if anyone has removed that tab of aluminum stock at end of the skeg? I had to bend mine cause it was hitting the new prop.

 Re: Prodrive prop removal
Mine actually wore off but it won't hurt. Bayouboy makes an awesome skeg if you want to replace it.
