Re: Admit it, post your stuck pic here!
Did this a few hours ago. I live on this lake and yesterday was the first time in a year n half that the waters been up high enough to put a boat in. F'd up while screwing around on my phone trying to show a buddy what the lake looks like now. Got it all on video. Thank God for GatorGlide, was able to push the boat back into the water by myself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUgaMRpC ... e=youtu.be

Re: Admit it, post your stuck pic here!
Ran for miles through this stuff last weekend late in the evening (wet mud/sand mixture with matted vegetation) and hit a pipeline sitting on top of the ground which threw me. Can't see it in the pic, but the boat is sitting on top of it. Mosquitoes tore me up and I started to get dehydrated. I would have gotten out of it by myself eventually if I had enough water to drink, but had to stop exerting myself as it was just making me overheat and get more dehydrated and I did not have enough water to rehydrate myself. I will be investing in some survival gear for the boat. Already ordered some mosquito netting and will probably get a water purification system. Also seriously thinking about a winch for the next boat build. Huge Thanks! to my two buddies who came out at midnight and got themselves stuck to get me out. Between the 3 of us we were able to get both boats out. Over several hours I dug a trench with my hands which filled with about an 1-2 inches of water and when they arrived with some water to drink all that was necessary after their long walk to get to me was a push to get up on step in the short trench then back through the vegetation and a half a mile circle back to some 2-3 inch deep open water. Making the circle in the dark at midnight I hit the stupid pipeline again, got thrown to the front of the boat but recovered quickly enough to grab the tiller and hit the throttle again so I would not stop again.

What were you using to anchor your winch hook?

Re: Admit it, post your stuck pic here!
A danforth. Its actually the same one i use for the boat, i just bought a little beefier one so I can use it with the winch also.
I encountered a problem though. I was only about 20ft from the canal if i could pull in a straight line(as you can see in the first picture) but the anchor would not hook up in the mud in the canal it would pull to the grass line then hook up. So I ended up running it all the way out and going parallel with the canal with the anchor in the grass. I managed to pull the boat parallel to the water and thenput the motor down and spun the nose.
In all honesty from getting the boat stuck to being back was no more than 15-20 minutes. That includes setting up the anchor and control for the winch.

Re: Admit it, post your stuck pic here!
Coming in from camp got stuck. Tried to dig out but was just mud and Lillies. Made a hole I bet was about 10 feet deep but still couldnt move. Called brother and buddies. No one could come out for a few hours. Made tent and we took a nap. Tide came in and we made it out before buddies got there. 2 1/2 hours of wasted time this afternoon from Joy Riding. But it was fun!
