So its as easy as replacing the stock switch with a non reversing one and adding a new one?

If you wanna have an awesome time and maybe stay in a room where children were conceived on one side and someone got stabbed over an 8-ball on the other come on down I got a can of raid. :D

Let me know how it goes. I am very interested but want to make sure I get the right parts and don't have to buy them twice.

ok when u remove the stock switch from the system u will have to use either relays or a solenoid cause any other little switch u use will not be able to handle the load ! the reason the stock switch can handle the load without any relays or solenoid is cause it has big solid copper poles in it witch is good for 70 amps

For those running the reversing contactor, what gauge wire are you using and where are you mounting it? Close to the battery, on the transome under the motor, on the motor itself? My battery sits under the middle set in my boat so I was going to run some 8 ga.from the battery and Mont the contactor on my transome. Should I mount it closer to the battery and not worry about the heavy wire, or what?

I used 10ga for the battery/ trim/ contactor hook up . I've hooked them up on the motor, battery box, and under the back corner brace.

I know it's a old post. But why not use two diodes in line. And still be able to use stock trim switch. The diodes would keep power going from the second switch up to the stock switch. And yes I understand you would use the reversing switch. To make it work.
