Re: What's your heaviest Load + Speeds
Last year I did one hunt with 4 adults (all 190-215lbs), one kid (65lbs), and one dog (70lbs). Blind (75lbs), 3 gallons of gas, one battery, typical hunting gear, lunch stuff, 20lb propane cylinder, 3 heaters, 5 dozen floating ducks +/-, 30 floating geese, and 10 dozen silhouette geese. Windy as heck. Very heavy load and I only did it because we were setting up about 400 yards from where I put in (because there was so much ice everywhere else). I have no idea what my speeds were, but I doubt it was over 8-10mph. Just plowed water the whole way. There wasn't a inch of free space in the boat and they were sitting on everything laying in the bottom.
The week before that I (200lbs) hauled a snowmobile (700lbs) up river in the empty boat with the blind (75lbs) on it and ran 18-20mph. It planed out.
There is a sweet spot somewhere in between where it planes and doesn't plane.
Empty the boat is consistently running 28-29mph now. Its a stock motor.
