Post 18/48 Skiff with 36 Pro Drive?
Thinking about getting a boat built and was wondering if anyone ran a 18/48 skiff all 3/16 or anything similar with a stock 36 Pro Drive?
I was just wanting to know speeds loaded or unloaded and how it performs
Thanks

And yes i searched and couldnt find anything about it

My boats no skiff, but it's 1748 all 3/16 with a stage 2 Prodrive and it runs 34 with just me, fuel and a 20qt yeti. I imagine a stock should push it 26 27 light loaded.

All depends on your definition of a load.

100 sacks of crawfish and some traps is a hell of a load

23-24mph is my guess on a stock PD with that load. It all goes back ta the boat and rake design on the hull. Just as important is how ya load it.

Id go 20 ft if its gonna be used for crawfishing...and narrower...say around 44", run a 3/16 bottom and transom, but go with a crimped 1/8 side.

Well i thought about 20/44 but that just seems a little too big for me but i will consider it. But i do need to boat to be all 3/16 because my old skiff i had a few years back had 1/8 sides and the got all messed up

If you're getting a Gen 3 PD, it'll be tad slower with a light load but won't be as affected by a heavy load.

Not necessarily, the older ones have a higher gear ratio. On a lighter rig, it would/should have more top end, but when weight is added, it will bog the motor easier. The newer ones have a lower ratio and will pull like a tractor. They are also working on higher pitch props for the new ones to gain more speed.

Yes, If it were me, I'd get the Gen 3 since you will have more the the normal load.

The gen 3's are strong motors
I run 29 empty and I'm all over the 4700 rev limiter. I need more prop to go faster.

I can carry 4 men and gear in the mid 20's and still turn 4400-4500 Rpms. Really surprised me

If i were to put a 3 blade prop would that make a difference in load carrying speeds?

Really? I thought they came with 2 blade like GT and then you can put a 3 blade. Well let me ask this, would it run better with a 2 blade?

Yea i saw on the website that motors built after July 2013 all spline props are only available(which are the 3 blade). I also saw that Prodrive doesnt offer manual trim anymore its just hydro
