shopping for a new boat radio
Anybody here use this radio by chance? If so, how do you like it? http://www.crutchfield.com/S-Cs0k3m7Ai4 ... RV250.htmlI'm looking to upgrade over the winter. Gonna ditch the old cd/ipod/radio deck. I'm pretty sure I won't ever be bringing a cd in the boat. Been trying to decide what to replace it with. There are a similar options from a few companies. Waterproof faces, bluetooth and auxiliary inputs and low profile. If anybody has any of the other similar units feel free to share your thoughts as well. If you can help shed light on my dilemma, thanks.

Re: shopping for a new boat radio
Really? Only one guy knows a guy who has moved past the old traditional cd/radio decks?

Re: shopping for a new boat radio
I installed one in a buddies boat and it rocks. He's running it and two matching speakers, super loud. I have the I have the $800 Wetsounds Stealth 10.... And it puts it to shame.

Re: shopping for a new boat radio
I bought a clarion deck that doesn't have cd, Bluetooth and is Pandora, etc compatible. You can change the ding through deck or phone. For under 200 can't complain, two Polk audio 6.5 pretty loud. Ain't a wetsounds but is under half the price.

Re: shopping for a new boat radio
Why not use a Bluetooth receiver and run it from your phone? I've got 2 6x9s and 2 6.5s and run 2 cheap amps with a $20 Bluetooth receiver and couldn't ask for more. Have leases than $200 ib y whole set up.

Re: shopping for a new boat radio
Thanks for the feedback guys. I found the radio I posted on amazon for $160. Up in the air now, there are some smaller guage sized units from Jensen, JBL and Dual and some no names as well, that are a bit less spendy. Gotta have a tuner or I'd just use an amp and speaker setup.

Re: shopping for a new boat radio
It'll do all the other stuff the head unit you're talking about and a little more all for a fraction of the cost

Re: shopping for a new boat radio
That doesn't look too bad. I already have the speakers though, so I just need the head unit. I figure if it's not loud enough I found an amp i could add later for $45. Just trying to decide if the Infinity is the one I want or if there's a better one. The face is only 6x4" and it's a little over 2" deep so it won't take much room.

Re: shopping for a new boat radio
Well, with minimal replies from a couple of attempts to hear how people like the Infinity marine stereo I asked about in the op, I ordered the thing. It's a $160 gamble the way I see it. I'll post a review of it in case anybody out there considers the same deck.

I have that infiinity on my bay boat, it was a good radio. After 1.5 summers the volume buttons stopped working.
