Post Modify the boat or buy New hull
So I have a 17x48 pro drive hull. I was looking at boats with a hunt deck due to pods not being able to put my boat in reverse with the pd motor. Has anyone added a hunt deck to their boat? Is it worth it or just buy new?

What are you trying to accomplish by adding pods or a huntdeck? A 1748 is a big enough boat without pods or huntdeck that it should support that motor's weight without squatting too much in the water. You can move your battery up front to shift some of the weight. If you need more floatation in the stern for some reason, then I'd just sell the hull you have and buy one that was built new with the huntdeck.

Resale would be better if you didn't try to add something like that. Huntdecks are built into the hull itself, stringers going all the way the length of the boat. The rear of the boat is an impact area if there are any obstacles (like stumps) where you run. Not saying it can't be done, but may not be the best in the long run.

You may consider selling your current boat and getting one made with the transom you want.

Dog in and out is easier with a huntdeck. Also bowfishing it would help with a big load.

I dont see how cutting a hunt deck into a boat would give you any flotation. Adding Pods or extending the length would though.

The short answer is new hull for huntdeck.

Well I stand corrected. I didn't realize that folks have actually "added" a huntdeck. I did a search on here and found some nice ones, very interesting.
