Also I just tie my motor down similar to how GD says in the manual, but I just use a normal tie down, not a ratchet . And it hooks to the bottom of my boat.

If its trimed up too high and hit some thick thick grass it will to blow out like the GD did. I just trim down a tad when i know theres gonna be some thick stuff though. Hitting something underwater though is much better on me, handle is always floating so it never hits you or anything, just scares the hell outa you lol.

As far as keeping the motor under control, the GD is pretty sketchy. But as far as the sudden noise factor goes, that GTR will scare the hell outa you when you hit something and that sob comes slaming back down like it does lol
