 Value of LT rig?
I think I am going to sell my LT rig. I just don't use it enough. I'm getting old I guess. I would like some opinions on what y'all think it's worth. I've looked in classifieds here and elsewhere but don't see much comparable. Hopefully it's OK with the moderators to do this here as opposed to the classifieds. I bought the rig 3 years ago new. GoDevil 18X44. Both hand rails, split seats with seat bases on both, extended front deck with seat base, seat base in rear for operator, bilge pump, trolling motor base with 12volt motor & battery, Lowrance GPS/fishfinder with transducer on removable bracket. McLain trailer that came with the rig is in good shape with spare tire. Powered by a 23HP Briggs & Stratton GoDevil longtail. I had the carb cleaned by an authorized B&S shop last fall. The rig is stored under a tarp or in a barn. It has 23 hours on it. I'm 67 years old. I'm not out there spending all weekend running around the marsh. I used it for fishing a little bit. I just can't seem to get the time to duck hunt like I thought I would. I looked at the sales contract and I have over $13,000 in it. I don't know whether to ask $6,500 or $9,500 for it. Your opinion is welcomed.

 Re: Value of LT rig?
$6500 would be giving it away. It sounds like it's loaded out with goodies and you being 67 years old I highly doubt it's abused. But might be hard to get $9500 for it in a world full where everyone wants a surface drive.

Yeah, I went LT with the small prop thinking it would be legal in federal refuges.

 Re: Value of LT rig?
You bought it 3 years ago...so I assume the setup is a 2013 model
If you're on here, you're probably on Facebook. Join "Southeast Texas Duck Hunters" and make a post on there to sell it when the time comes.
To get that higher number it's going to take someone looking for exactly what you have. People tend to go with the surface drive motors now if given a choice.
List price on GD's website for that hull is 4795 with stock options. Stock motor is listed at 3695. Say...1500 for the trailer? That puts the cost of a new rig at 10,000 (minus the upgrades/options and taxes).
If I were selling it I would be looking for 7-7,500. Only my opinion and probably not worth too much.

I think reharbert is right on. Shame you can't duck hunt like you want; just turned 63 myself and have a new 26.5 BW LT on my 1648 that is a bit easier to run than the previous MB motor...that said, you might downsize to a 15-16 hull with say, a 23 copperhead to make it easier or put that or a 25 shortail on your 1844?...my goal is to run mine for a decade.

 Re: Value of LT rig?
Truth to both previous posts. R-bert nailed it though on sale conditions . Good. Luck regardless .

 Re: Value of LT rig?
I think I have too many irons in the fire...bay boat, 2 RV's, etc. When would y'all think would be the best time of year to sell it? Anytime, or a few weeks right before teal season? It might get to the point of just keeping it.

 Re: Value of LT rig?
I don't know that their really is a good time. My opinion is as soon as you decide you want to get rid of it. As time passes - things lose value.
List it with a firm price you're happy with. If someone sees it as something they want - it will sell.

 Re: Value of LT rig?
Yeah you'll get more after summer going into season. The market is flooded right now with people getting rid of the boats they're tired of after duck season. Probly will sell easier now but for less money.
