 Re: Speed!! MPH
6.5 Predator on small Swamp Runner kit, slightly modified but still governed 1432 Lowe riveted flatbottom 15 up river with one person and a trapping load 19.5 down river with one person and trapping load. Saw 20 and change once, but didn't maintain it. These are at WOT, that rig is more comfortable cruising at 10ish up river and 15ish down river.

 Re: Speed!! MPH
Ok guys with predator engines. I have a 22 hp predator engine with a 7x4 prop on a 14 ft john boat motor is mounted on a go devil frame. Loaded or unloaded I run 7-8 mph. Usually I have 2 guys 6 gallon tank battery guns and decoys. I have been watching you tube and reading threads and people are running upper teens to lower 20s. What size propeller do I need to be running. Any help would be appreciated.

 Re: Speed!! MPH
1548 Weldcraft 22hp Predator (all stock) on Go Devil bushing frame 9x6 Backwater Prop 20mph solo at 3700 rpm 16mph full load at 3500 rpm
9x6 Backwater Prop broken in running shallow salt water 22.3mph solo at 3950rpm 18.5mph fishing load (wife, 2 small kids etc) 3800rpm
9x5 Go devil Prop 18mph solo at 4000 rpm 15mph loaded at 4000 rpm
I'm also burning about 1gph if anyone cares.
Both these speeds are in deeper water with slight chop. Governor spring is zip tied to spin 4200 - 4300 out of the water. The 9x6 will easily break 20mph solo in smooth water and may get low 20s if I can dial it in. If they made a 9x5.5 that would probably be perfect for a stock Predator 22.
Just did some running and updated speeds are posted up above. The motor now has about 20hrs on it and the 9x6 BW prop is broke in after a couple hrs run time. Saw 3-4mph increase in both speeds.

 Re: Speed!! MPH
I swapped to a 1973 16x4 riveted thick hull with marine ply floors and front deck . I'd guess 400lbs easy. 18mph solo with gear in deep water against wind.Fastest was 19mph. 25 kohler GoDevil 9x7 prop with alot of miles on it. Im pretty satisified.Never ran with 2 people I just put her together.as long as there is wet water like stuff and its soft,She rides thru with ease.

 Re: Speed!! MPH
1836 godevil duck skiff 23 gdlt with timing advance and partially gutted stock exhaust turning a slightly worn 9x6 GD prop Got 19 with 2 men going up river. 21 down river.
Just decided to start posting here bc I have now installed some homemade duals and a 34 MM round slide mikuni. Going to order a 9x7 BW prop and try again soon. Eventually will do heads and a cam on this motor.

 Re: Speed!! MPH
Great speeds, Flint! Some day I will get a true flat hull and be optimum with my motor. 20 mph is just right.
