Post New boat options-- help?
Hi all, I am looking for input on the size and boat I need for what I'm wanting to do. I hunt south and central Arkansas in anywhere from 2-36" of water that is tree and stump filled, and will also see heavy grass and some mud from time to time, will definitely have a gtr35, but I also run timber a lot, and will use the boat for fishing. I will need a boat with a pointed bow, hunt deck, and that turns excellent. Thinking of something around a 1746, 1748, or 1754. Trying to keep skinny enough for trees but stable enough for open water. I would also like to stay in the high 20s with 3 people. I drove an excel f86 1860 with a mb black death on it last year and did not really like it, too big and no reverse. Thanks ahead of time!

1848 is a good size for the load that your carrying and still good in the timber. I ran one for 2 seasons in the timber. You will for sure need a pointed bow. And if you run stumps I would go with a 3/16 bottom with double or triple taper chine for turning ability.

I'm guessing your going to have a custom boat built? If so shoot RJ (duckhunterf250)a pm. He's in south west ark.

And if your wanting to hold high 20's with 3 man huntin load get heads, cam and exhaust and you should hold those speeds.
