Re: High Plains Honkers! we went with this small town guide in tolaga, ok named troy cunningham. it was like 300 dollars a day and if i had the option to lease a 1200 dollar pit or hunt up there 4 days i would do it again 100 times. It was unreal the number of ducks and geese coming into those dry feilds! 7 of us killed 42 ducks in 45 minutes and a limit of geese after lunch.This guy will hunt hard for you.

Re: High Plains Honkers! I talked to those guys at the Shreveport expo last year. said they were tired of takin Dallas guys that couldnt shoot and makin em stay in the field all day. So they came to get some coonasses that could shoot so they would be done by 830.. i dont know why but that didnt sit well with me. If im payin for a hunt i want to take my time. not be rushed by a guide who has better things to do... just my .02

Re: High Plains Honkers! Should try Old Mexico for ducks. Feb. 2009 6 of us got 455 ducks in three days. Dec. 2009 8 of us took 505 ducks in 3 days all for around $3600 per person with airfare from Houston to Harlingen and back. Got my Dec. 2010 date already set.

Seams there websight is down, anyone of you guys know if they are booking for this year. I did a hunt with a guide out there a few years ago and it was a blast. |
