putting a mud motor on with my blind
im wanting to put a surface drive motor on my boat, its a 2005 grizzley with a gooseview blind i'll provide the link, my problem is this blind is a x-bar scissor type blind and a long tail wont work because of how they hang into the boat but the motor im looking at is a mud buddy i think its a mini lite i forgot to ask, but how far into the boat do these hang, my blind comes back to where the suppports go from the transom to the sides. here is a pic of the motor and the blindhttp://www.bigriverprodrive.com/blinds.htm

Don't know for sure on the mudbuddy's, but I have a prodrive with the same blind. No problems at all, just have to turn the motor to the side to lift the blind.

If that's the motor in the pic, it's not a mini lite, it's one of the older, original hyper drive models. The way the handle is made, it should accomodate for the X-frame on the blind, but like CB said, ya can always just turn it all the way to one side.

Re: putting a mud motor on with my blind
on most of these motors the handle free floats so it can be used in the boat and when you get ready to lift the blind you can just lift the handle up vertical along side the motor...

Uh, negative Ghost Rider. A LT will go just as far, probly further into the boat. You could make a new handle for the lt so that it comes from the top of the motor instead of the bottom. Then it should clear the blind, if that's the route ya wanna take.
