 Re: GD 2 blade
Once polished and balanced - my 2 blade is nearly as smooth as the 3 blade - ran about 20 miles this last saturday on it and plowed up and down some very heavily vegitated "trails"....
I run both - have 2 of each ready for duck season....

 Re: GD 2 blade
I don't know about the GD 2 blade, but I just took the GD 3 blade off my 35 that has 6 hours on it, and put a MB Big Blade 2 blade on .
The 3 blade only let my motor run 3400-3600 depending on load. When I trimmed up to get more rpms, the prop would blowout.
I can get the 2 blade up to 3900 rpms before blowout and my speed increased 2mph loaded and unloaded.
Each boat is different and just because it sucks for one, doesn't mean it sucks for everyone.

 Re: GD 2 blade
It doesn't matter how balanced it is, a two blade is still going to vibrate more than a three blade because it is not constantly slapping the water like a three blade. Same reason more two blades sling a blade more than three blades.

 Re: GD 2 blade
I put 4 hours on my 3 blade and 2 hours on the MB Big Blade, in a one week period, and can't tell a difference in the vibration. Of course my last 4 years and 214 hours have been with a 31 longtail so maybe my sensitivity level is turned way down right now.

 Re: GD 2 blade
The 3 blade pitch should be around 11.5. The 2 blade I believe is 12. The 3 blade should carry a load a lot easier and your hole shot should be better. I tried the 2 blade due to a modded motor seeing if I could gain more speed. With two guys full live well, fishing gear, extra battery and trolling motor I was running 27 with a 3 blade and 27.6 with a 2 blade.

 Re: GD 2 blade
You guys are talking about 2 different 2 blade props right? Robn your experience seems like something was wrong with the prop. 2 blade may have a little more vibration but should not be anywhere near what you were explaining. BBB if your 2 blade is working fine, go with it. Props can be very tricky, but if you have one that performs the way you want, go with it. Just because someone else is having a problem, doesn't mean that you are. Probably 80% of all mm's on the water are running 2 blade props. Pretty much all LT's, most MB's, all GT's, and most PD's are running a 2 blade with good results.

 Re: GD 2 blade
That mb prop is a good prop. All I was saying was if your happy with what your running, and didn't like the 3 blade, sell that bastard. If you want to keep a spare, buy another 2 blade since thats what works best for your boat. Good luck. It just looked like what you guys were going back and fourth on, was not apples to apples. And it wasn't!

 GD 2 blade
Giga can correct me on this one but I thought that the reason GD went with the 3 blade was due to all the vibration issues they were having with the 2 blade. Believe me they had some serious issues with the 2 blade and yes I ran one with the 2 before the 3 blade so I saw and felt it myself.

 Re: GD 2 blade
Hey! what if you threaded the shaft up a little farther and ran two 2 blades?
Never mind, the vibration would probably be so bad the boat would hover on the water......idling!
