 PD skeg ?
I have a 36 PD. I took my boat out of the water tonight to start doing some pre LA mud run maintenance and noticed the skeg is bent to the left side. The bend is right at the point, just under the prop. My question is, can I just beat it back straight with a hammer or this a "no no"?

 Re: PD skeg ?
Did you buy the boat and motor used? If so they may have the skeg bent a little to help with some tiller torque. Just a thought.

 Re: PD skeg ?
Mine bent to a couple of weeks ago but I had a few cold beverages and backed into a power pole. Heated it with a torch and put a pipe over it and bent it back. All that was bent was the point that is past where the skeg stops.

 Re: PD skeg ?
Its just a piece of round stock welded to the flat skeg so yeh it could be replaced. Some folks have cut it off and just ran the flat skeg. It would be similar to mine and I can get down for a better bite. The trade off is you could get more prop stikes without the round stock running under the prop.
