Who is or has run a 32 PD?
I'm looking for the ideal prop size. My engine isn't modded except for exhaust and a K&N. It runs really strong though. My current prop is @ 11 1/2". Boat size is a toss up because I'm in the market for one. But whatever I get will be carrying a substantial load during duck season and in the off season as my wife will be with me as much as I can tolerate.

Port the stock intake, 36 carb, and valve job, and maybe a mild port/polish on the heads while you have em off, you may be able to turn the 36 prop. Can tell you soon how it would run on a 1648 Legendcraft. Its my dad's rig and he hasn't got to run it yet. I'm guessing he'll go back to the 32 prop because he likes the way the smaller prop pushes a load and gets on step. He was running the 27 prop before the work for those reasons.
He got a new 36 prop when he bought his new lower unit, so he's gonna try it. I'll probably wind up running it on my 27. I was running the 32 prop on it before, and liked the way it ran. Should be right around the 40hp mark now and should not have any issue turning the 36. She sounds mean, thats for sure. Gonna take her out for the maiden voyage tomorrow, but still using the 32 prop.

Re: Who is or has run a 32 PD?
I edited my post. I caught what you said the first time. My dads boat is a lil on the heavy side. Horizontal bracing, and its got some good one's in the bottom (which I know absolutely nothing about). It had a hard time stepping a load with the 32 prop. Lost maybe 2-3 mph on the top end empty, but could carry 3 people around 23mph all day with the 27 prop. Valves were in bad shape though, I'm still thinking he will run the 32 prop on his boat and I'll be running the 36 when all said and done.

Re: Who is or has run a 32 PD?
put a stock 36 prop on my stock 32pd two summers ago and ran great. Hole shot was better and lost 200-300 rpms and still held the same speeds on my 1648 PD hull. Now I have a Hopkins Hog exhuast, 36 pd carb, port and pollished intake, head decked and valves shimed with port and pollish job on them also. Run a 36 prop still and it will out run my buddies stage one 36 pd on a 1860 phowler. Sure boat size is different and weight is different, but he used to blow me out of the water and run away form me. Prop will be just fine on a stock 32.
