i have several arrows, but only one is attached to string at a time. how are yall getting the second shot off, do yal just send another arrow (cheaper aluminum with broadhead) ???


or do yall have a second bow? i dont plan on shooting nothing gigantuous. i like shooting my smaller needlenose and catfish and choupique. occasionaly a decent size gar. the one gar over 30 lbs i shot two weeks ago, i finished it off with a .22 CB cap lol.

when ever i go with my friends if one shoots a good one the other one lets one fly to. just some extra leverage.

I only shoot one time. If your going after big fish or gators (I would say over 100 lbs) get a float setup. You shoot, let em pull all the line and toss a float. Then you can put on another reel and float if you wish.

I've shot some decent size 20 or 30 lb gar and not had any issues at all with only one arrow.

ive got the AMS setup. u mean screwing on another reel? and just letting that reel follow the float?

your string is attached to the float so when the gar pulls out the string out the float just pops off the front of your bow. you then follow the float around to the gar wears itself down then you can pull it in with your hands....

No, you use a slotted reel. When you shoot something small, you reel it up just like normal. When you shoot something big, let it pull all the line off the reel, it doesn't have a stop like your normal set up. Then toss the float in the water. The reel is on a quick release, just pop it off, and stick another one on already set up with line, arrow, and new float.

This is what it looks like. I don't know why you guys don't use em for gators. If you're gonna shoot the damn thing 20 times with a .22, I can't see an arrow and one shot from a bang stick could do more damage to the hide.

You bought a slotted reel? I have two of the same style reel's but not slotted. See where the line come's back out the front, instead of being tied off at the bottom of the bottle? If you have a slotted reel, all you need is a float.

just looked. mine is tied off at the bottom. i stil dont understand tho how the float system operates. guess i gota go look at a float / slotted setup..

Get some bowfishing arrows with the fishing tip and you shouldn't need a second arrow unless it's to big to handle with one string. I have a second bow I use when I'm by myself but the cheapiest route would be sell your retriever and buy a retriever pro (slotted). Then buy some extra arrow, line, float. After your first shot, restring the retriever with the extra setup and your ready for the second shot.

shoot em in the head,you dont loose any meat and only need 1 shot.
or you can stick the barrel of ya .22 in the water,shoot and will not blow up the barrel.

Set up right and you have nothing to worry about!!
